Hot< Hereabouts, about a mile from the Pacific Ocean around 38 degrees north and 120 degrees west, the coastal stratus is keeping us almost cool enough to require the burning of fossil carbon to stay warm. (It's "Layers on" season.)

Somewhere in California indeed - San Francisco, just two blocks south of Golden Gate Park and less than a mile from Ocean Beach. I've been spending time aboard a 130-year-old national historical landmark under sail on the bay, and have been reveling in all the free air conditioning we get.
